Child Life Specialists
What is Child Life?
Child Life Specialists are trained in child development with a focus on supporting the emotional and social needs of children. In hospitals, they help kids feel safe and empowered by preparing them for medical procedures, explaining complex experiences in ways they can understand, and using play and creativity to build coping skills.
At Bridge to Bravery, we bring these same child life principles into the community—offering support beyond the hospital setting. Our goal is to help children better understand their bodies, their emotions, and their experiences. Whether facing a new diagnosis, navigating medical appointments, or going through a big life change, we use therapeutic play, education, and hands-on tools to reduce fear and build confidence.
We believe that when children are informed and supported, they can face challenges with courage.
